The first review is in for THE HORSEMEN’S GAMBIT, Book II of my Blood of the Southlands trilogy, which will be released in January.

Romantic Times gave it four and a half stars (!) and said:  “Coe manages to take several serious, weighty issues, approach them from distinctly different points of view and make you sympathetic toward characters who sometimes act selfishly or viciously.  He absolutely nails the plot and sequencing.  This book is the best yet in the series.”

Needless to say, I’m pleased.

Congrats! Great review to get and sounds like you should be well pleased with “official” feedback like that.

Plus, great cover pic on the book. Looks like a level 71 female human Warrior from WoW…

Could be a Paladin too, actually.

If I am not mistaken, she seems to be wielding a dagger in the main hand and, maybe, just maybe, The Sword of a Thousand Truths in the off-hand!

    Cool. 🙂

Thanks, Graham. She’s actually just a captain in the Qalsyn army and an accomplished swordswoman, but all that other stuff sounded cool!

    What is the release date?

January 20th. Barack Obama’s inauguration is only the second most important event that day….

Hey David..I received an arc of Horsemen’s Gambit last month and liked it a lot! I gave it a pretty favorable review on my site as well. Now comes the long wait for book 3 😦

Thanks for the kind review, Jeff! Sorry ou didn’t like Sorcerers’ Plague as much. I agree with some of your criticisms, particularly with respect to the book’s conclusion, though I’m not sure how else I could have handled it without lengthening the book by a factor of two. But I also agree that book 2 was more successful and I think you’ll like book 3 very much.

      Thanks again!
