Today on the Summer 2014 Plunder of Souls Blog Tour, I conclude my month as Featured Author at Drey’s Library. My final post for Drey is a somewhat lighthearted list of my writerly pet peeves — from mall signings to “reserves against returns,” and a few things in between. While you’re at the site, be sure to sign up for a chance to win a free signed hardcover copy of A PLUNDER OF SOULS, the third Thieftaker novel, which has just been released. You can find the post here; I hope you enjoy it.

Another day on the Summer 2014 Plunder of Souls Blog Tour, another couple of posts. Today, I’m visiting another writer friend, Alyx Dellamonica, with a post about the things I read as a child. It was a fun post to write — a chance to reminisce. You can find the post here. I hope you enjoy it.
I’m also back at Drey’s Library, where I am the featured author for July. Today’s post is about building the relationship between Ethan Kaille, the conjuring, thieftaking hero of my Thieftaker books, and Sephira Pryce, his beautiful and deadly rival and nemesis. That post can be found here. And while you’re at Drey’s Library be sure to enter the contest to win a free signed copy of the newest Thieftaker novel, A Plunder of Souls!

We have a variety of fun stuff on the Summer 2014 Plunder of Souls Blog Tour today, starting with free flash fiction set in the Thieftaker world on the blog of my wonderful friend Faith Hunter. That’s right FREE fiction, never available before. You can find that here.
I also have a new interview and book giveaway up on PNRradio.com in partnership with ILoveVampireNovels.com. Arial Burnz conducted interviews with me and author Tricia Skinner. My interview was far-ranging and a great deal of fun; I’m sure Tricia’s was too. And if you listen to the interviews you’ll also learn how you can win a free copy of my book or Tricia’s. So give it a listen. You can find the interview here. You can also find the interview as a podcast here.
Finally, I have a post up at Fantastical Imaginations about writing in different fantasy genres. That post can be found here.
So there you are: three different events at three different sites. And the blog tour rolls on. Enjoy!

And don’t forget that there are A Plunder Of Souls giveaways going at the following sites:
Happy Monday, readers! Hope you had a great holiday. I did, and now I’m psyched for tomorrow’s release of A Plunder of Souls, the third book in the Thieftaker Chronicles. The Summer 2014 Plunder of Souls Blog Tour stops off today at the SciFiChick site and at Aidan Moher’s “A Dribble of Ink.”
My essay at “A Dribble of Ink” is about trying to balance the need for historical authenticity with the equally compelling need to write books that resonate with a twenty-first century audience. It’s called “Hey! You Got Your 21st Century in My Historical Authenticity,” and I hope you enjoy it.
With the SciFiChick, I am talking about combining fictional and historical aspects of storytelling in my Thieftaker books, in a post called “Making Historical Fiction Lasagna.” And with this post there is a giveaway: Enter the drawing on the site and you might be one of three lucky winners to receive a hardcover copy of A Plunder of Souls. So visit the site, check out the post, and maybe win a book!
Two big posts up today in the continuing Summer 2014 Plunder of Souls Blog Tour. The first is at Magical Words, the site on the craft and business of writing that I co-founded and still maintain with my friends Faith Hunter and Misty Massey. The post is on the origins of A Plunder of Souls in the short story “A Spell of Vengeance,” which was published at Tor.com in 2012. You can read the post here.
The second post is at All Things Urban Fantasy, who have welcomed me back for the third straight year. I’m grateful to them. This post is a fun one: it’s an interview with Ethan Kaille, the hero of the Thieftaker books, conducted by the Boston Gazette, the leading Whig newspaper of the time. And it gets better: in addition to the post, there is also a contest. I’m giving away a signed, hardcover copy of A Plunder of Souls to some lucky reader! So visit the site and enter the contest!! And good luck.

The Summer 2013 Thieves’ Quarry Blog Tour has me back at Drey’s Library today, where I am July’s featured author. My post today is about my choice of pre-Revolutionary Boston as the setting for the books of my Thieftaker Chronicles. Drey has been a wonderful host, and I am so grateful to her for welcoming me onto her site. I hope that you enjoy today’s post, as well as the other posts I’ve done for her site, and I hope as well that you will enter the contest to win a Thieftaker t-shirt.
